HeartKids WA
Edward George provides an ongoing monthly donation to HeartKids WA. HeartKids WA are a very special charity solely focused on Childhood Heart Disease (CHD) – which is the greatest killer of young Australian children (under the age of 5) – a fact most people are totally unaware of. CHD takes more lives than all other childhood diseases – twice that of childhood cancers.
HeartKids WA works to:
- Support families who have a child with heart disease
- Reduce the incidence of Childhood Heart Disease
- Decrease the mortality rates for Childhood Heart Disease
They do this by:
- Employing Family Support Coordinators at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children
- Running Family and Teen activities
- Funding Research into CHD
- Providing equipment to the Children's Cardiac Centre
- Assisting families with travel and accommodation needs
- Advocating the needs of CHD to Government
